A meeting of the group of DACH project ‘Ethnic Differentiation, Interethnic Relations and Conflict in Central Asia: The Case of the Uzbeks in Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Kazakstan’ took place at the Al-Farabi University in Almaty between 8-12 April, 2015.

During the workshop researchers discussed the progress of their research. Wolfgang Holzwarth and Indira Alibayeva who were in the middle of their field period shared the first results of their field research. Baktygul Karimova presented her paper based on her research in Kyrgyzstan. Besides the supervisors of the project Prof. Gunther Schlee, prof. Peter Finke, and prof. Alessandro Monsutti other scholars like Meltem Sancak, Igor’ Savin and doctoral students who work on the similar issues were involved in discussions.
